Anacortes SD

Arlington SD

Arlington Public Schools has partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Arlington to provide FREE childcare to the children of healthcare professionals and first responders during this time. Childcare is available from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. For more information visit: https://www.asd.wednet.edu/ 

Bellingham SD 

The city of Bellingham and the Lighthouse Mission have an agreement to use part of Bellingham High School. The schools are public assets owned by our community. The district’s main goal during the closure is to “protect life, promote safety and minimize the spread of the virus,” and we believe this partnership is a good demonstration of our work in this area. Burlington-Edison

The Skagit Valley Family YMCA is offering emergency childcare to first responders, healthcare providers, pharmacy workers, and grocery store staff starting Monday, March 23rd. This drop-in service will be available for school-age children (K-6), Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-5:30 pm. The cost is $20/day or $100/week. Space is also available at their Early Learning Center for ages 1-5. As this is not a B-ESD program, please contact d.hart@skagitymca.org for more information. Partnering with the local Boys and Girls club to provide childcare for ten of our students. In exchange, they have access to our elementary school multi purpose room (gym) the school district will provide lunch for the 35-40 children in Boys and Girls club on a daily basis. Edmonds SD

Childcare services began on Tuesday, March 24, for families of active district students whose parent/guardian work in healthcare or are first responders. The district appreciates the partnership with Right At School to provide this essential service. Our nursing, custodial, food and nutrition, and administrative staff have collaborated to provide this service safely for all involved.

While Right At School is not able to provide childcare at this time for families not in healthcare or who are first responders, the school district  encourages those in need of childcare to reach out to other community partners. Everett SD

Marysville SD

Partnering with local YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club to provide childcare for healthcare workers, first responders, and others. The school district will be providing meals to each organization and the YMCA is using one of our elementary schools (Allen Creek Elementary) for extra space in order to maintain social distancing. Meridian SD

Meridian School District is a member of what has become the Whatcom Unified Childcare Coalition, consisting of several school districts, community childcare facilities, Peace Health, and several other entities. This is a coordinated effort to ensure our entire county has a presence to respond to Governor Inslee’s request to provide childcare support for our healthcare and first responder families who have that need. For all families with child care needs, it is recommended they contact the Child Care Aware Family Center, as they will have the most up to date information on who has openings.

Our partnership with the Whatcom Unified Childcare Coalition is going to involve Irene Reither Elementary hosting one of the YMCA child care sites to help healthcare and first responder families. Our nurses and some of our employees will support the staffing of this site and provide an important option for these families. It appears the need is slowly increasing as families see this need lasting for a prolonged period of time – which is also a national trend. We will be ready to provide this support for our families.

Monroe SD

  •  Monroe Boys and Girls Club – Normal childcare rates will be discounted by 50% to lessen the impact on our families during school closures. As a thank you to healthcare professionals and first responders, their children will be given free childcare during this time. Space is available for new members. 
  • Monroe/Sky Valley YMCA – The YMCA is also offering daycare for healthcare and first responder families at no cost, with a $45.00 daily rate for drop-in children, and financial aid for families in need. School-Age Care will be held at Fryelands Elementary from 6:15 am-6:30 pm. The Maltby Shuttle will be running during this time to provide services to families in need. 
  • Miracles and Memories Academy – Available for students with disabilities that prohibit them from using other daycare options. Limited spaces, so registration is required. Scholarships available.

Mount Vernon

Childcare services will begin Monday, March 23. The primary focus of school closures is safety and wellness for our community at large. A key component of reaching that goal is to reduce the impact of school closures on our community’s ability to have essential staff present at hospitals, health care facilities, and at police and fire departments. Oak Harbor

Per the Governor’s order, the school district will offer limited child care for families who are considered essential employees in the healthcare industry and first responders. To minimize the spread of disease, families are encouraged to find alternative methods and only use this resource if absolutely necessary. If this service is necessary, please call the dedicated hotline at 360-279-5040. For families who do not fall in this category, you are urged you to offer support to family, friends, and neighbors to make sure those who need child care receive it. Sedro-Woolley SD

The Sedro-Woolley School District is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Skagit County to provide childcare to the children of parents on the governor’s essential personnel list. Childcare will be limited to students currently enrolled in the district in kindergarten through sixth grade. If you or someone you know falls into one of these categories, please fill out this online survey to apply for a spot.

Childcare services will begin Wednesday, April 1 at Mary Purcell Elementary School. The drop-off location will be on 7th Street, between Nelson and Talcott, at the north-end portable gate entrance. Normal hours of operations will be 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Childcare will be available during the district’s scheduled Spring Break, April 6­–10, as well.

Snohomish SD 

Partnering with the Snohomish Boys and Girls Club (childcare available 6:00 am-6:30 pm) and the Mill Creek Family Branch-YMCA (childcare available 6:30 am to 6:30 pm) to provide child care for our district first responders and health care workers who need child care.  South Whidbey SD

Partnering with South Whidbey Children’s Center for Child Care for  first responder and essential health care parents beginning Monday, March 23rd. The school district will be reaching out individually to each of the parents who completed the online survey (linked here) and expressed the need for this service. Stanwood-Camano SD

The YMCA is now offering a Preschool camp (3-5 years old) for the families that are still needing to go to work during the closure. The hours of operation are 7am-5pm Monday through Friday, $45 per day per child. Preschoolers of first responders and healthcare providers are at no cost. This is in addition to the emergency spring camp the YMCA is offering during the district closure. Spring camp is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am -5:00 pm and space is still available. Financial assistance is available to families; for further information call 360-572-3399.
