Hargreaves Foundation

The Hargreaves Foundation is a new charitable foundation set up to transform young lives through sport and education. It provides grants to support under 18s living with a mental health problem, physical disability or growing up in poverty. The aim is to improve wellbeing, self-esteem and independence through sport and education. It prioritises organisations based in and/or working in the South West.

The foundation can fund clearly defined projects, initiatives or the purchase of specific items that support one or more of the following:

  • enables individuals to experience the mental and physical health benefits of participatory sport
  • ensures participatory sport is accessible
  • provides sporting or educational activities that foster life skills
  • aims to improve academic engagement and attainment
  • encourages the development of skills and personal attributes to aid future employability

Charities, schools, Further Education colleges and NHS Trusts can apply for grants for projects, events, training and other time-limited activities in the UK.

Grants for sports or educational activities that support under 18s living with a mental health problem, physical disability or growing up in poverty
