Giant Sycamore Stump
Address:
1402 West Defenbaugh Street, Kokomo, IN, USA
Description:

The Giant Sycamore Stump is located in Highland Park in a covered pavilion.

The trunk was 57 feet in circumference and one of its lower branches was reported to be eight feet in diameter. The tree, which originally stood in western Howard County, was estimated to be 1,500 years old according to newspaper articles.

On Sunday, June 18, 1916, the stump was moved to Highland Park where it could be preserved as a relic of the county's pioneer period.  The stump is on display for all to see in a pavilion located in Highland Park, next to Old Ben, the world's largest steer.
