ISTE Certification Training

Wyoming Department of Education > For Teachers > Digital Learning and Support > ISTE Certification Training

The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) is excited to announce the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Certification for Educators training opportunity for Wyoming teachers. The WDE is partnering with Arizona Technology in Education Association (AzTEA)/Edvolve, one of the organizations ISTE has authorized to deliver the training, to support one hundred teachers through the certification process.

ISTE Certification is a professional competency-based program focused on pedagogy that transforms learning through the use of education technology.

ISTE Certification for Educators training includes virtual work sessions, completion of online learning modules, followed by teachers applying what they have learned in the classroom. Teachers document their classroom activities and submit the evidence in a portfolio to ISTE as the final step to become certified. The program is rigorous but the WDE and AzTEA/Edvolve have added support layers to the training to assist educators through each step in the process.

Teachers interested in ISTE Certification for Educators training sponsored by the WDE must complete the Wyoming Digital Learning Guidelines course before registration for the certification training will be considered. The course registration and additional information is located on the Digital Learning Guidelines page.

The ISTE Certification Training in Wyoming will include:

  • Virtual work sessions with cohort groups of approximately 25 each.
  • Additional support and structure during the portfolio process than is typically available.
  • The option for educators to contact the Professional Teaching Standards Board and add the Instructional Technology endorsement to their teaching license once they obtain the ISTE Certification.
