About this event

Who should attend? Indiana Long Term Care Professionals who are interested in abuse and neglect prevention. The funding provided to offer this course only supports the attendance of long-term care professionals working in an Indiana skilled nursing facility.

Delivery Mode: One-day, virtual training session.

Content: The virtual training session is designed to serve as an introduction to abuse and neglect prevention with long term care specific content and examples. Topics included are human dignity, scope and severity, rules and regulations, reporting requirements, active listening and de-escalation techniques, recognition of potential triggers and training others in prevention and intervention.

The course will involve a pre-and post-test to reflect knowledge improvement.

Credential: Certificate of Training in Abuse and Neglect Prevention in the Long-Term Care Setting.

Cost: Free. This course is funded by the Indiana Department of Health with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Civil Money Penalty funds.

CEUs are available for Administrators and Social Workers.
