Scooping up a sweet highlight for Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month! 🍦 Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream (C&B) is a premium ice cream maker right here in Lexington. What started as a dessert option in the back of Toa Green’s family restaurant, Thai Orchid Cafe, has since grown to two scoop shops, 40-plus employees, and can ship nationwide through Goldbelly! They've also had recognition through national presses, including PEOPLE Magazine | PEOPLE.com and The New York Times. 🙌 Through initiatives like the FEED Backpack program and the Small Batch Club, they've also raised over $56,000 since 2020 for local organizations, proving that sweetness goes hand in hand with giving back. 👏 Join us in celebrating AAPI Month and honoring the incredible contributions of businesses like Crank & Boom in our community and beyond! Celebrating Beef Month! 🐮 In the early 1970's, Eastern Kentucky University's Agriculture Department expanded its laboratory facilities to include opportunities for students to work with livestock and crop enterprises that were not available. Meadowbrook Farm provides hands-on experiences for students studying agriculture or related subjects, while serving as a learning resource for the agriculture community. From beef to dairy, swine to sheep, this farm's legacy of growth knows no bounds! 🧑🌾 Their beef operation consists of cow-calf, backgrounding, and finishing enterprises on a cow herd of 150 crossbred cows. Both spring and fall calving herds are maintained to complement the instructional programs in EKU's Agriculture Department. 🌾 🔗: https://farms.eku.edu/ #TeamKentucky #Education #Agriculture #BeefMonth #AgEducation #Cows #Beef
