Warm Spaces

Cost of living support - banner

We are creating a network of free ‘Warm Spaces’ across Central Bedfordshire. Everyone is welcome.

You'll find Warm Spaces in:

  • libraries
  • leisure centres
  • community venues

Warm Spaces in our libraries

Our libraries can provide a free warm and safe space.

As temperatures fall we are reminding residents that you can find a warm space and an even warmer welcome at your local library. Visiting a library is free and we have a team of friendly staff ready to help new, existing, and returning customers.

Whether you choose to pop in to enjoy some quiet time with a book or magazine, or to meet up with people who enjoy similar interests, there is something for everyone. In addition, libraries offer free Wi-Fi and provide access to public computers making it a good option for people to work or study. To help you stay warm you are welcome to bring your own snacks, and drinks into the library.

To use the library services you will need to register for a library card. This is completely free and you can do this in any of our libraries or online.

Warm Spaces in our leisure centres

Our leisure centres provide public spaces and seating areas available as warm and safe spaces. As temperatures fall we are reminding residents that you can find a warm space and an even warmer welcome at your local leisure centre.

All leisure centres have accessible toilets.
