Episode 15 ended at 7:10 pm HST March 26. Fountains from the south vent dropped abruptly over about 2 minutes from several hundred feet high to nothing. Episode 15 lasted just over 31 hours with high fountains over the last 9 hours. View All Messages.

High fountains continue at 6 pm HST from the south vent and are 500-700 feet. Maximum heights of just over 1000 ft from the south vent occurred from 11 am-12 pm today and around 1:30 pm. The new V2cam images are darkened by steam and ash. View All Messages.

Current airborne eruption hazards include vog (volcanic smog), Pele's hair and other small volcanic fragments from lava fountains that can fall on the ground in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and communities downwind of the eruption. View All Messages.

Ep. 15 continues as of 11:40 a.m. HST with voluminous lava flows and sustained fountains over 600 feet (180 meters) high. There is increased potential for exposure to airborne eruption hazards due to vigorous fountaining and weak winds. View All Messages.

Both the south and north vents are feeding high fountains. The south vent fountain heights are more than 500 feet high (150 meters) with the north vent fountains about half as high at 10:35 am HST. View All Messages.
