Areas of gusty southwest to west winds will continue for the mountains and deserts into Friday evening. For this afternoon through Thursday morning, the stronger gusts of 45 to 55 mph are expected with gusts to 60 to 70 mph in the northern Coachella Valley below the San Gorgonio Pass with areas of blowing dust and sand.
