Ready to make a difference in your community! Join San Bernardino County’s Fifth
District Supervisor Joe Baca Jr. Youth Advisory Council. Members of this
council will advise Supervisor Joe Baca Jr. on the issues that directly affect
them and their peers. Members will gain skills and experience in leadership,
civic engagement, action planning, collaboration, and much more.
Eligibility
The Youth Advisory Council is open to
all High Students of the graduating
classes of 25’, 26', and 27’ that reside within the Fifth District. San Bernardino,
Rialto, Bloomington, and Colton Area
Interested students should:

Demonstrate leadership in school
and/or community activities.
●
Express an interest in learning
more about creating change and acting on the issues that affect them and
their peers.
●
Be open minded and willing to
work with their peers.
●
Commit their 100% participation
to all YAC leadership building activities.
Program Expectations
●
Attend all YAC meetings.
●
Complete 25 hours of volunteer community
service first semester (attending YAC meeting will count as community service hours)
●
Participate in scheduled
events.
●

Attendance Policy
The success of this program is
dependent on each participant’s commitment and focus to attend monthly
meetings, be punctual, completing required community service hours, and
making a difference within their communities.
Selection Process
Supervisor Joe Baca Jr., and staff
will review all YAC applications. YAC does not discriminate against gender,
race, religion, national origin, sexuality, or disabilities.
All Applications are kept confidential.

email provided by applicant
Photo and Release Form
After the selection process all members are required to turn in a
Photo and Release Form. San Bernardino County,
Supervisor Joe Baca Jr. and Fifth District staff may use photographs or
videos taken. Needed for its record keeping, advertising, social media,
and/or public relation projects.
