Final Sunset Area Plan and Placer Ranch Specific Plan released

Placer County today released its Sunset Area Plan and Placer Ranch Specific Plan and their associated final environmental impact report - setting the stage for their final consideration by the county Board of Supervisors by the end of the year. Learn more


New segment of state Route 89 now open

Caltrans has announced that the long-anticipated new segment of state Route 89 in Tahoe City is now open to traffic. The new quarter-mile long segment includes a 153-foot-long bridge crossing over the Truckee River, a roundabout on the south end next to the Tahoe City Transit Center and another roundabout on the north end near the Caltrans Maintenance Station.
