More personal care services can reopen tomorrow

The California Department of Public Health has released guidance for a number of personal care services. These businesses may resume operations in Placer County as early as June 19 after implementing the guidance, with no further approval needed from the local health officer. The guidance and other supporting materials for businesses are available on our Reopen Placer website.


Athletic drills can resume in Placer County

The California Department of Public Health has notified Placer County that distanced, non-contact athletic drills and conditioning activities (including among youth) may resume under guidance. Read more


PG&E to discuss power shutoffs with supervisors

PG&E's representatives will address the Board of Supervisors during its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 23, to discuss preparation for future public safety power shutoffs (likely to occur in response to high fire conditions this season). The board will also be considering adoption of the final budget for the fiscal year 2020-21, approving a memorandum of understanding with Sacramento State for a South Placer satellite campus and discussing creation of a grant program to help small businesses/non-profits due to the current pandemic. Summer fire restrictions in place in North Lake Tahoe

As we head into wildfire season, our partners at North Tahoe Fire Protection District issued an important fire restriction update for the California side of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Restrictions took effect Monday, June 15, prohibiting all residential outdoor burning. Natural gas and propane fires are still permitted. Read more
