Fire agencies are ready for wildfire and ask you to be, too

CAL FIRE Nevada Yuba Placer Unit responded to 14 wildfires in our region in the days after last week's lightning storms. Unit Chief Brian Estes says they were well prepared to extinguish those fires and asks all of us to do our part and be ready to evacuate quickly.

Technical difficulties lead to in-person board meeting

The board chambers will be open to in-person attendance at the next meeting of the Placer County Board of Supervisors scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 9 a.m. To remain in compliance with the state’s public health guidance, the county will limit attendance to just 25% of the room’s capacity and will require 6 feet of physical distancing inside and outside the board chambers.
