Exchange of views with the NATO Secretary General

On Monday, MEPS will discuss with Jens Stoltenberg how the EU and NATO can strengthen cooperation and jointly respond to security challenges.

Opportunities for closer cooperation between the EU and NATO on military mobility, the fight against hybrid threats and the use of disruptive and emerging technologies will be among the main topics covered at the meeting on Monday.


With the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, MEPs of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence and the Committee on Foreign Affairs will also discuss how the Alliance can better respond to security challenges potentially stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.


MEPs will also want to consider how the Allies can work together in a more interconnected manner, to avoid unilateral initiatives that threaten the security of all allied partners.
