Thank you for being a partner in advancing sustainability and climate solutions in the City. We know the impacts of extreme storms and floods and exceptional heat and cold waves all too well. We need to ensure that we are prepare and adapt for continuing impacts while taking responsibility for our own emissions and demonstrating leadership. It's time to get into the details of what an equitable climate strategy for Detroit will look like -- how we make investments in our infrastructure, identifying resources for improving neighborhood resilience, rethinking how we use energy in our buildings and vehicles and how that energy is generated.
We are hosting a series of six focus groups to get your input, followed by three townhalls to report back what we heard and listen to your feedback about the proposed set of actions. Many of you have been working for climate and environmental justice for many years and bring invaluable expertise.
