WIBRS Data

Welcome to the Wisconsin Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Data Dashboard Center!

The Wisconsin Incident-Based Reporting System (WIBRS) is the Wisconsin-specific version of the FBI’s National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). These data collections are part of the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, but offer much more detail and information compared to the Summary-Based Reporting (SBR) system. Each year in Wisconsin, more and more agencies transition from the SBR system to WIBRS, in anticipation of the FBI’s 2021 transition deadline. For more information about the FBI's NIBRS program, visit: https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/ucr/nibrs

It is important to note that not all agencies in Wisconsin have made the transition from the SBR system to WIBRS; only agencies that have gone through the WIBRS transition process and are certified by the state will have data in the WIBRS dashboard. Due to differences in reporting rules between SBR and NIBRS/WIBRS, the two systems are not comparable. Please use caution when reviewing data and visit the methodology page for more detailed information.

As always, agencies are responsible for the completeness and accuracy of their data. Since agencies can update WIBRS incident data as needed, information on the dashboard is subject to change. Please note the refresh date on the dashboard and request more updated data if needed.
