The Georgia Department of Revenue is working with software vendors to offer free electronic filing services to qualified Georgia taxpayers. Please keep in mind the following:
- Qualifying taxpayers can prepare and file both federal and Georgia individual income tax returns electronically using approved software for less or free of charge.
- Use of other sites that promote a free federal return will not guarantee your ability to also file your Georgia return for free.
- Some of the companies listed below may charge a fee for electronic preparation and/or filing of your federal return.
- Information on the providers' websites will help determine the best product for your tax needs.

- File online using approved tax software.
- Many of our Individual Income Tax forms (including 500 and 500 EZ) may be filled-in online using your browser. When complete; save, print and mail the form.
- Filing electronically will get your refund to you the fastest. Handwritten forms take the longest to process.
