Supervisorial redistricting process begins to take shape

Our Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved next steps to develop new supervisorial district boundaries in the county. The board voted to appoint the Placer County Planning Commission to act as the Advisory Redistricting Commission to draw redistricting maps, which will ultimately be brought forward to the public and board for formal evaluation and selection.

County prioritizes affordable housing with formation of taskforce

A taskforce will be created to help identify and move forward affordable housing projects in the county, following approval by our Board of Supervisors this week. The taskforce will consist of nine community members with expertise in housing development and the housing needs of Placer County. Learn more


Happy 211 Day!

This week, our Board of Supervisors passed a proclamation declaring Feb. 13, 2021, as “211 Day” in Placer County. 211 Placer is in its seventh month of operation, connecting residents with a wide range of services and resources in our community. Today we hosted a brief video chat to learn about what 211 has to offer and hear from some of our community partners. Watch video 


Placer County seeks to update its Lake Tahoe pier regulations

Our Board of Supervisors on Tuesday voted to move forward with updating and streamlining the county’s Lake Tahoe Shorezone Ordinance to reduce regulatory overlap with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. This is the first update to the ordinance since 1960.

Vaccines instead of celebration for Roebbelen Center 1-year anniversary

The new Roebbelen Center’s first anniversary is on Saturday, Feb. 13.  While the pandemic kept the big sporting events from occurring @the Grounds this past year, the 50-acre facility has proven itself to be an invaluable asset for emergency response in Placer County. Watch video
