In February 2023, the Clermont PTA is hosting a Scripps’ affiliated Spelling Bee at Clermont! The spelling bee is an opportunity for students to develop language skills and increase their vocabularies, practice poise under pressure, strengthen life skills including work ethic, build confidence, and have fun!

Currently, we are gauging students’ interest in the spelling bee from parents. There is no commitment at this time—we will reach out later with additional details for registration.

• The spelling bee is free and open to all students in kindergarten through grade 6. 
• Scripps provides optional study resources for students. 
• The bee will be split into two age groups, grades K-2 (Jr. Bee) and grades 3-6 (Sr. Bee), and held in February on separate evenings. 
• The top 3 finishers in the Jr. Bee are invited to participate in the Sr. Bee. 
• The winner of the Sr. Bee is the school champion and continues to the Fairfax County Spelling Bee mid-March.
