How will assignments be defined? |
Educators will be assigned a number of items to author based on their experience with the content. Items will be authored throughout the workshop, and outside of workshop hours to completion. Authors will complete two cycles of development within a six-month time frame, with a general expectation of writing seven to ten items per educator. |
Will I receive support or feedback while developing items? |
Consistent feedback and support will be offered to authors throughout this cycle. Peer review will take place both during the workshop and at identified times throughout the six-month cycle. Meetings with authors will be held remotely using a teleconference platform. |
When will I receive payment for my items? |
Items authored during the workshop are not eligible for additional payment outside of the reimbursement offered to schools for sub pay or the stipend for those educators using their own time. It is expected that educators will complete 3-5 items within the workshop. Items authored outside of the workshop during the educator’s personal time will be compensated following the six-month cycle. Once the item assignments are completed and are accepted through an editorial review, authors will be eligible for compensation. |
Do I need to sign off property rights for the content I create? |
All work products are the property of the Indiana Department of Education. Educators will sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement and sign a rights agreement for the work completed. |
What is the rate per item? |
Educators will be reimbursed $125 per item for those items written outside of the workshop hours, provided all other criteria have been met, following the six-month cycle. |
