Our Story
Hounslow’s Promise is a borough-wide initiative set up by the Member of Parliament for Feltham in partnership with Cranford Community College, with input from schools, businesses, councillors, members of Hounslow Youth Council and community organisations.
Established in 2019, the charity was at the forefront of supporting young people in the Borough of Hounslow during the COVID-19 lockdown by providing laptops and tablets to those struggling with continuing their education due to online teaching. 110 laptops were donated to schools in 2023.
Our initiative is based on the belief that all children and young people should have the right tools and opportunities to learn and thrive. We believe that the whole community shares a responsibility to help young people succeed.
Inspired by the successful ‘America’s Promise’, it is centred on a vision of ‘Five Pledges’ to be made and kept to the young people of Hounslow.
Our Programmes
We are proud to run a number of programmes across Hounslow. All of our programmes highlight the importance of leadership, social cohesion and giving back to the community.
Connected Futures
The Connected Futures: Young Leaders Programme was developed to support young people aged 16-24 who are living, studying or working in the London Borough of Hounslow.
Skills For Success
Our Skills for Success Programme aims to enhance the aspirations, opportunities and career prospects of enthusiastic and committed young people.
ConnectedKids@Home
Hounslow’s Promise is working with local schools to help provide computers or laptops to pupils in Hounslow who need to study at home but do not have access to a computer or the internet.
Masterclasses
Hounslow’s Promise hosts quarterly free masterclasses for young people where an accomplished professional is invited to discuss their careers. This provides young people with a greater understanding of job prospects and enhances their education.
