Description:

Costing is an essential tool for everyone at the bargaining table.  Costing a contract allows you to compare options, set priorities, make sensible proposals and evaluate trade-offs.  Join two experienced FMCS mediators for a lively presentation, discussion and tutorial on this important topic.

This course consists of two 90 minute sessions.  In session one, we will begin with a (mostly) painless review of some basic math skills for estimating and understanding costs, then, using case studies and hypotheticals, take a look at how parties can most constructively develop, share and use costing information to reach agreement.  We will end the session with additional examples for you to complete as homework.  In session two, we will work through those homework examples, and have lots of opportunity for questions and additional explanation where needed.  Enrollment will be limited to ensure that everyone has a chance to participate.
