Did you know that old tires can become breeding grounds for mosquitoes? Keep Leon County safe and mosquito-free by disposing of your old tires for FREE now through May 16, 2025.

Use the drop-off locations below and bring up to 25 tires per resident:

Solid Waste Facility:
7550 Apalachee Pkwy.
🚗 Monday - Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Rural Waste Sites:
Fort Braden: 2485 East Joe Thomas Rd.
Woodville: 549 Henry Jones Rd.
Miccosukee: 13051 Miccosukee Rd.
🚗 Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
🚗 Saturday - Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Following the successful completion of Phase I, work on the Leon County Solid Waste Landfill Closure Phase II Project begins Wednesday, March 19, with an expected completion in Fall 2026.

Located at 7550 Apalachee Parkway, the landfill is undergoing vital environmental enhancements and will soon transform into a space for new recreational opportunities that will benefit the entire community!

Additionally, proactive steps will be taken throughout construction to reduce dust, noise, and odors, ensuring minimal impact on nearby residents. For more information, visit LeonCountyFL.gov/Landfill.
