Public Hearing: Boosting the use of alternative fuels in the transport sector
The hearing on boosting the use of alternative fuels in the transport sector provided Members an opportunity to gain insight from experts in the field.
Two aspects, highly relevant for the TRAN Committee were discussed: how to increase the uptake of sustainable alternative fuels in road, maritime and aviation and what needs to be done in terms of sustainable alternative fuel infrastructure, including the upcoming revision of the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive, scheduled for the 2Q 2021, the revision of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) Regulation, foreseen for the 3Q 2021, and other pieces of legislation such as the recast Renewable Energy Directive. The hearing was webstreamed.
