On December 27, 2020, the President signed the FY 2021 Appropriations Act, which appropriated $1 billion to be awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation for National Infrastructure Investments. This program is referred to as the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity, or RAISE Transportation Discretionary Grants program. Funds for the FY 2021 RAISE Transportation Discretionary Grants program are to be awarded on a competitive basis for projects that will have a significant local or regional impact.
