Replay: Gov. Whitmer update on Michigan's COVID-19 response

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is expected to provide an update to Michigan's response to the COVID-19 pandemic at 11:15 a.m. in Grand Rapids.

Whitmer is expected to discuss MIOSHA return-to-work guidelines, which coincide with the first step of the "MI Vacc to Normal" plan.

Whitmer is expected to be joined by: 

  • Jim Keane, Steelcase CEO  
  • Rick Baker, Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO  
  • Susan Corbin, Director of the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity

Then, at around 12:15 p.m., Whitmer is expected to sign a bipartisan bill package designed to support Michigan distillers and help them expand their businesses.

  • State Sen. Winnie Brinks 
  • State Sen. Wayne Schmidt 
  • State Sen. Jeremy Moss 
  • State Rep. Rachel Hood  
  • Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss  
  • Jon O’Connor, owner, Long Road Distillers 

The state health department confirmed another 1,013 coronavirus cases and 86 deaths Saturday, bringing Michigan to 883,202 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
