Effective May 6, 2024, USCIS shifted initial domestic processing of Form I-730, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition, for following-to-join refugee (FTJ-R) petitions to the USCIS International Operations Division from the Asylum Vetting Center. This workload transfer will affect all Form I-730 FTJ-R petitions that were pending or filed on or after May 6, 2024. USCIS will mail transfer notices to the petitioners of pending Form I-730 FTJ-R petitions. If you have a pending Form I-730 FTJ-R petition, make sure the address associated with your pending Form I-730 is current. If you need to update your address, the Special Instructions section of the Form I-730 webpage has information about updating your address for your Form I-730. 📎 Filing documents with the lockbox is different than other paper filings. When filing documents at the lockbox, you may use fasteners and heavy clips to organize forms and their supporting documents. Do not use fasteners, clips or bindings of any kind when filing directly with a USCIS service center or the Asylum Vetting center as that may cause delays in the scanning of the documents into the electronic database systems. If you are unsure what to file and where, visit: https://lnkd.in/gydk3S4k
