King County Metro construction continues in White Center As early as August 23, Metro crews will close 15th Ave SW between 106th and 107th to all general traffic. Access to businesses along this corridor will be maintained. The closure is expected to last until October.
Metro crews will also be working at night to install utilities across the width of 15th Ave SW from the southeast to southwest corners of the 15th Ave SW and SW Roxbury St intersection as early as August 23. Work happening this week and next week For all work described below, residents and businesses will be notified in advance of any anticipated impacts. Dates for construction activities scheduled are subject to change depending upon weather.
We are continuing to work in Zone A to upgrade sidewalks, curb ramps, and electrical utilities
Final repairs on SW Hudson St will be completed soon
We will install curbs for the landscaped medians and pedestrian islands throughout August
Landscaping continues throughout Zone A
This work includes tree planting and seeding for lawns and other vegetation
Species being installed will ensure year-round evergreen coverage, and include street trees and species that are low-growing and derived from Pacific Northwest native plants
We will provide more details on any upcoming work later this summer, which will include traffic signal cutovers at most major side street intersections with Delridge Way SW
Curb ramp, sidewalk, and street upgrades continue into next week at SW Trenton St, SW Holden St, and SW Kenyon St
Sidewalk upgrades near SW Barton St and SW Henderson St continue
We will continue upgrading the sidewalks near the slip lane from Delridge Way SW to SW Barton St into next week
Please note that we are installing new curb bulbs in this area to enhance crossings for people walking at this intersection

An example of the striping trucks that will be moving along the corridor to paint final channelization. Crews will be working overnight from 6 PM to 6 AM to complete the final touches over the next several weeks. Please practice caution as you travel along the newly striped corridor.
