The county boasts 48 miles of the South Downs Way’s impressive 100-mile national trail. So if you’re like us and would rather take it a chunk at a time, West Sussex is a great place to start.

Country to coast

There are so many routes to take and trails to discover that you’ll be in your element, whether you’re a weekend stroller or an experienced hiker. Nestled within the foothills of the South Downs, you’ll find treasured trails that boast an array of woodland, hedgerow, farmland and wildlife.

For a short walk that takes in the coastline, try Littlehampton to Climping. It’s a great distance for families and this beginner walk takes you takes you from country to coast in one easy route.
