Draft concepts for Powderhorn Park improvements are now available

Everyone’s invited to review the plans and comment online, or at Powderhorn Recreation Center.

Improvements for Powderhorn Park are taking shape! The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) has developed two draft concept plans for park improvements. Both plans are based the park’s approved master plan, in addition to feedback gathered from the community last summer: Project staff heard from more than 300 people about priorities for this phase of park improvements.

Below are details on how everyone can be part of the review and comment process, as well as information on next steps for the project.

Two ways to view the concept plans and share feedback

On the MPRB website
At Powderhorn Recreation Center
    • Both draft concepts are on display inside the center (3400 15th Ave. S., open Mondays-Fridays 3pm to 9pm and Saturdays 9am to 5pm)
    • You’ll also find opportunities to share your feedback and comments, available through Monday, October 17

Next Steps

After October 17, the design team will review all feedback on the two draft concepts, and use it to create a preferred concept plan. The preferred concept will be shared with the community and, after a public hearing, it will be considered for approval by the Board of Commissioners in early December.
