Dry Creek Road Construction Project, East of I-25

Construction is underway to improve Dry Creek Road just east of the I-25 interchange. This project will extend the eastbound Dry Creek Road right lane, creating a through lane from the northbound I-25 exit ramp to Inverness Drive East. Additional associated improvements are listed below. Completion of the project is expected early 2025.

Throughout the project, travelers can expect daytime traffic impacts as the project progresses. Intermittent daytime lane closures should be expected. Minor impacts to bicycle and pedestrian access will be required. Access to transit stops will be maintained throughout construction.

Project Background

In the next 25 years and beyond, the I-25/Dry Creek Road interchange and corridor between Yosemite Street and Easter Avenue will serve as an important thoroughfare for both local and regional travel.

Dry Creek Road will provide a balance of improved traffic operations, multimodal mobility, and safety while maintaining local accessibility. Planned improvements will minimize impacts to existing neighborhoods, maintain the community identity, and match the neighborhood/mixed use surroundings.

Arapahoe County, in conjunction with the City of Centennial and the Southeast Public Improvement Metropolitan District, conducted the I-25/Dry Creek Road Interchange and Corridor Study from 2015-2017.  The study identified short-term and long-term improvements to address peak period congestion along the corridor. Learn more about the I-25/Dry Creek Corridor Study.

Following the Corridor Study, Arapahoe County secured Federal funding for the design and construction of some recommended operational improvements along the corridor.
