Burgess Park Skate Bowl & Urban Games
Overview
We want your views, to help us shape designs for a new skate park and environmental improvements at Burgess Park.
Burgess Park is situated near Elephant and Castle, Southwark, next to the hugely successful BMX Track London.
We are looking to create a new high quality free-to-use skatepark, catering for a variety of sports, including skateboarding, BMXing, scootering, climbing calisthenics and parkour. We have put together a design proposal that also includes environmental improvements to offset some loss of green space around the skatepark.
We are seeking your feedback on this phase one design proposal project.
This phase one consultation is now closed and responses are no longer being accepted.
Southwark Council uses your personal data to record your response to the consultation. Section 1 of the Localism Act 2011 alllows us to do this. The council does not require your permission to process your data and failure to tell us your information may mean that we are unable to process your response. Your personal information will only be used by our parks team, and will be destroyed after four years.

What happens next
We will give you feedback on the results of this consultation and how we have used your views to shape and update the design for the skate park. We will be in touch with you by email (please don’t forget to leave your email address with us) and through the council's project webpage by the end of 2020.
We expect to launch a second round of consulation in the new year.
Once finalised, the design will be submitted for planning permission people will have the opportunity to comment on.
Technical design work will then be required to provide information for seeking a building contractor. Construction currently expected to begin next year.
