Collecting 5,274 of the 8,871 total votes in the fan poll, Foster had 59.45 percent of the votes and was well ahead of the 2,733 votes collected by Ja’Marcus Smith of Detroit Mumford wrestling.
Foster made program history when he beat Gavin Wilmoth of Traverse City St. Francis, 5-4, in the 160-pound championship match in Division 4. He finished his season a perfect 17-0.
