Project L.E.A.D.

Literacy for Every Adult in Dade

Project L.E.A.D. (Literacy for Every Adult in Dade) is an adult literacy program designed to assist English‑speaking adults with low literacy skills. The program provides free, one‑on‑one, confidential tutoring to help adults improve their reading and writing skills. Adult learners are matched with volunteer tutors who help them achieve their reading goals. Teams meet twice per week either in-person or online for one‑hour sessions at a time.

Project L.E.A.D. is now operating using a hybrid format. Adult learner assessments, volunteer tutor training, and one-on-one tutoring occur either in-person or using the Zoom platform. To assist adult learners that do not have access to a laptop or tablet, we invite them to use the MDPLS Mobile Device Lending Program.

To become a Project L.E.A.D. tutor or an Adult Learner, call or e‑mail Project L.E.A.D. for more information.
