Who better than Mayor Mike Duggan, Dep.

Mayor Todd Bettison and Director of Neighborhoods Ray Solomon to guide you for Part 3 of our Neighborhood Hot Spots Tour!

Mayor Duggan visited They Say Restaurant, at 267 Joseph Campau in the Rivertown-Warehouse district. He then went east along Jefferson to Ivy Kitchen and Cocktails, 9215 E Jefferson.

Dep. Mayor Bettison swung by Berts Marketplace in Eastern Market. And got to hang with owner Bert Dearing and his fab staff.

Dir. of Neighborhoods Ray Solomon began his day with a frappe at Morningside Cafe, 16369 E Warren - then shot across town to Southwest and Donut Villa, 5875 Vernon, for an encore.

And naturally, Ray topped everything off with a steak from the original Starter’s Bar & Grill, 18426 Plymouth.

Parting thoughts: No list could ever cover everything our City has to offer! So use this guide - and keep exploring our amazing neighborhoods for more amazing spots!

Detroit is tackling crime, seeing its lowest crime rates in nearly 60 years!

Social Media Specialist Chris M from City of Detroit · 22 hr ago

Last year, the Detroit Police Department hired 200 officers who are now patrolling the city. Six community-based organizations (ShotStoppers) were selected to reduce violent crime in neighborhoods - with one group already achieving a 72% reduction in homicides and non-fatal shootings. We've also implemented state-of-the-art technology, including gunshot detection - immediately notifying officers and potentially saving lives.

These strategies and partnerships with federal, county, state, and community members are making Detroit a safer place!
