Do you know how to place sandbags?

As we prepare for heavy rainfall today, May 13, check out these tips:

✔️ Place the sandbags outside and against the doors where water enters your home.
✔️ Clear debris from the area where bags will be placed.
✔️ For additional water proofing, put a large sheet of heavy-duty plastic between sandbags and the wall of your home.
✔️ Position bags pointing in the direction of water flow.
✔️ If water comes into your garage, sandbags should be directly against the access door into your home for support. Garages can withstand low flooding with less damage than the interior of your home.
✔️ Sandbags are not dams. If you have water that normally runs across your property, the sandbags can be used to guide the water past your home but cannot be used to stop all water from coming onto your site.
