Copper Cane and the Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission’s turbulent battle over wine labels is over.

On Sept. 23, 2021, the OLCC approved a settlement agreement with Copper Cane Wines of Rutherford, California. Joseph “Joe” Wagner, Copper Cane’s owner, agreed to pay a $50,000 civil penalty to settle charges of violating Oregon’s wine labeling laws from 2017 to 2018.
