In this first blog of a new series exploring our progress in delivering the ambitions of our strategy, Ian Trenholm, Chief Executive at CQC, reflects on the work we’ve done over the last 12 months.
Over the last 12 months we've been coproducing our new regulatory approach with health and social care providers and professionals, the public and other stakeholders.
In our latest video you can learn what a year may feel like for a provider under this new approach. In this scenario we give an overview of our future approach and run through how we'll collect evidence and make assessments.
As a key part of our new regulatory model and single assessment framework we will identify the types of evidence we will use to assess specific types of providers. This evidence will be used to understand the quality of care against previously shared quality statements and our five key questions.
We're sharing proposed sets of evidence for specific types of providers on our digital engagement platform. We'd like your feedback on whether these are right or if anything is missing.
We'll be adding information on more types of providers over the coming days, so keep checking back!
For more information on how we're using evidence in our new regulatory approach you can watch a short explainer video on YouTube.
There are ongoing opportunities to shape how CQC works on our digital engagement platform CitizenLab.
