MODERATE rip current risk with cool water and air temperatures at the beaches from Duck to Ocracoke. Only experienced surf swimmers who know how to escape a rip current should enter the water with proper thermal protection. Never swim alone and always take flotation!
Strongest rip currents often occur a couple hours either side of low tide, which is around 8:00 am/pm today. Expect mostly sunny skies today with a chance of showers & thunderstorms, high temperatures in the lower 70’s and southwest winds around 10 mph. Water Temperatures: Jennette’s Pier: 59.
