In April 1945, U.S. soldiers witnessed evidence of Nazi atrocities near the end of World War II. The Fort Worth History Center will exhibit posters based on photographs taken during that time, along with testimonials from Holocaust survivors liberated by American soldiers.

Join us for the opening of the exhibit at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the History Center, 501 E. Bolt St.

  • We will show an 8-minute companion video that compiles film footage recorded by American servicemen and nurses.
  • Afterward, join us for an optional discussion of the film.
  • Note that the exhibit and film contain graphic images that may be disturbing for some.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has made the American Witnesses images freely available for reproduction for increasing awareness of the events of the Holocaust.

  • The Holocaust Museum also produced the companion film.
  • In observance of the annual Holocaust Remembrance Day, the exhibit will be on display from Jan. 27 to Feb. 24.
