About the Position

Make an impact! Join the Mayor's Community First Public Safety (CFPS) Initiative by becoming a part of, the Awakenings Program, a violence prevention and early intervention program for Saint Paul youth!

The Project Manager Parks and Recreation will be responsible for supporting and be an active leader in the Awakenings Program.

This work includes:

  • Continuous youth engagement and recruitment
  • Developing, maintaining, and strengthening relationships on behalf of local youth
  • Developing, maintaining relationships and resources with community organizations and city departments
The Project Manager will report to the Restorative Practices Program Coordinator. 

Performs professional work assisting in carrying out the day-to-day operations of assigned projects of the Division of Parks and Recreation. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

Position Requirements

Five years of experience in the following areas such as:
  • Experience working with youth with mental health and emotional issues 
  • Knowledge of mental health service systems and mental health concepts
  • Business and Specialty areas, e.g. recreation, project management/administration, development and planning, community resources, health and safety, group dynamics, community engagement
Degrees in Sociology, Human Studies/ Development, Youth Work/Leadership, Liberal Arts, Community Engagement, Civic Engagement, Child Psychology, or a closely related field may be substituted for work experience as follows:

Associate Degree - 2 years
Bachelor’s Degree - 4 years

Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
