Bebot was unveiled on Earth Day and will be fully deployed this summer. It's fully electric and remote-controlled, capable of cleaning 32k square-feet per hour! We love everyone's personal commitment to keeping Belle Isle clean, and now with Bebot, plastic waste, bottles, food wrappers, cigarette butts and other items may have met their ultimate match!
Thanks to our partners, the Belle Isle Conservancy, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, CGLR Foundation, the Clorox Company and Meijer. And this is all part of the bi-national Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup effort!
And we're making sure EVERYONE knows how to use modern technology! 💻
Resources to help are now available at eight Certified Tech Hubs open free to Detroit residents. This means learning how to have a live video chat with an out-of-town family member. Or it could mean assisting students with take-home schoolwork.

In the two-year position sponsored by The Ford Foundation, Care moore will plan and lead poetry-centered events across the city, participate in programs that reflect and honor the city's diversity, and share the art of poetry with children. She was selected through a rigorous application process and is filling the shoes of longtime poet laureate, the late nationally renowned Naomi Long Madgett.
Care moore has an extensive resumé, including book publisher, cultural arts curator, recording artist, filmmaker, activist, and award-winning poet.

After showing the world how beautiful Detroit is during last week's NFL Draft, the City's annual beautification campaign is set to build on the enhancements. We need residents, community organizations, businesses, and students to pitch in and help beautify neighborhoods the first three Saturdays in May.
Like last year, the City will distribute 90,000 flowers to spruce up neighborhoods AND provide 500 trees to residents.
Motor City Makeover wouldn't be possible without the generous sponsors who have already provided $63,250 in financial and in-kind donations.
Cleaning will take place by districts on:
May 4 - Districts 1, 2 and 3
May 11 - Districts 4 and 5
May 18 - Districts 6 and 7
