Malawi - Floods

- ECHO Daily flash of 26/02/2020

  • Since 24 February, the Central Region of Malawi has been affected by heavy rain, leading to widespread flooding in several areas, including Lilongwe.
  • Media report 3 deaths in Kawale area (Lilongwe), and one fatality in Mchinji District (Central Region). Several roads and houses were damaged by flood waters.
  • Moderate to heavy rain is forecast over most of the country from 26-28 February.
