Primarily catch and release fishing adjacent to Boulder Creek Wilderness area. Head east on OR-138E / NE Diamond Lake Blvd., go about 52.5 miles to campground on left. Amenities: picnic; restroom; camping

7. Cable Crossing Wayside, Idlelyd Park | 23 mi., 28 min. (fly-fishing only)

Popular fly-fishing hole with good bank access. Go east on Hwy 138 for 23 miles. Wayside is on right, just one-mile past Swiftwater Recreation Area. It’s a steep, short driveway just before the guardrail begins.

8. Calapooya Creek (Stearns Park), Oakland | 16 mi., 22 min.

Access to Calapooya Creek. Park closed in winter. Take I-5N to exit 138. Merge onto Stearns Ln., go about 1 mile. Slight left to stay on Stearns Ln., left onto Goodman Ave. Amenities: picnic; restroom

Primarily catch and release with great bank fishing for summer steelhead in scenic and historic setting. Head east on OR-138E / NE Diamond Lake Blvd., go about 39 miles. Turn right over Mott Bridge, park on right and hike down trail to river. Amenities: restroom

Bank access near winter steelhead acclimation site. Take I-5 S to exit 99 N. Canyonville / Crater Lk. Then Left at Creekside Rd. / Jeffreys Rd. Left onto Gazley Bridge Rd., go about 0.25 miles. Pull into parking area just before bridge.

11. Cleveland Rapids Park, Garden Valley | 14 mi., 20 min.

Boat launch and great bank access for steelhead and salmon. Parking fee. Take I-5N to exit 129, Winchester / Wilbur. Right onto OR-99S / NE Stephens. Go west on Garden Valley Rd. for about 14 mi. Take I-5 S to exit 98, Canyonville / Days Cr. Left onto 1st St., Canyonville-Riddle Rd. Take 2nd right onto SE Main St. Take 2nd left onto SE 3rd St., continue onto Douglas County Hwy 1, Tiller Trail Hwy. Go about 7 miles. Turn right after crossing bridge over river. Amenities: boat launch or ramp

Small lake surrounded by a U.S. Forest Service Campground. Primarily bank fishing, but non-motorized watercraft are allowed. Take Hwy 138 E 16 miles and turn onto Little River Rd. Drive about 26 miles to the lake / campground on the left. Amenities: camping

Pond stocked with catchable-sized trout in spring, and warm water fishing year-round. Take I-5 S to exit 108, Myrtle Creek. Left onto N. Main St. Go 0.5 miles then turn left onto Riverside Dr. (turns into South Myrtle Cr. Rd.) and go about 16 miles. Road becomes one lane here and is BLM Rd. 28-2-35.0. Drive from this point 4 miles to pond on left.
