VIRTUAL COMMUNITY LISTENING SESSIONS

The Los Angeles County Homeless Initiative held a series of community listening sessions from September 28th to October 24th, 2022, to get public input on its new framework of strategies for addressing and preventing homelessness.

Listening sessions were conducted in each of the County’s Service Planning Areas (SPAs). Additional sessions were held for people with lived experience, and for representatives of cities and Councils of Government. Another session was conducted entirely in Spanish.

During these listening sessions, the Homeless Initiative presented a New Framework to End Homelessness in Los Angeles County and plans to use feedback from stakeholders to ensure its accelerated implementation is responsive to the unique needs and priorities of diverse communities countywide. Homelessness is a result of decades of failed policies, economic factors, and racism, making it more complex than any one entity can solve alone. Public input is vital to expanding and enhancing urgently needed solutions that can help ensure that everyone who lives in Los Angeles County has a place to call home.
