A bill intended to slow the encroachment of private equity in health care landed on the cutting room floor at the Oregon Capitol.

House Bill 4130 would have required that the top officers of a corporation offering medical services be doctors, nurses or other medical professionals. It sailed through the House but stalled in the Senate. By the time the Legislature wrapped up its brief 2024 session late Thursday, the bill hadn’t received a Senate floor vote.
