Lynnwood Police Careers

Prior to applying for Entry Police Officer or Custody Officer positions with the City of Lynnwood, applicants must first pass the appropriate written and physical abilities testing process with Public Safety Testing. Once an applicant has successfully passed the appropriate testing process with Public Safety Testing, their test scores will be forwarded to the City of Lynnwood and only those applicants will be eligible to apply for Entry Police Officer positions as they become available.

Working for the City of Lynnwood offers many outstanding perks!  The work is rewarding, you have an opportunity to serve your community, and you will have access to a comprehensive and generous benefits plan.  The City's benefit program includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as life insurance and long-term disability coverage for employees.  Spouse/domestic partner and dependents can be covered for reasonable additional premiums. 

We also offer excellent paid leave, including vacation, 13 holidays per year, and sick leave. 

City employees participate in the Washington State Retirement System through joint contributions from the City and the employee.  Employees are also able to elect the following voluntary benefits: a Flex Spending Account (FSA), a Health Savings Account (HSA), as well as a 457(b) deferred compensation plan.
