What is an EIR and why is it important?
The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requires public agencies to evaluate the potential environmental implications of their projects and programs. After an Initial Study (IS) determined a range of possible areas of impact for analysis, City staff and the CEQA consultant team have completed the analyses and compiled the results in the Draft PEIR. The Draft PEIR studies potential impacts and makes recommendations to mitigate any significant adverse impacts. The Draft PEIR comment period is an opportunity to express any concerns about the physical impacts of the project, and each comment will receive a response from the project team.
Stay tuned for more opportunities to participate as the General Plan and Zoning Code go before Planning Commission and City Council this fall!
