Dorchester County is expected to receive more hazardous weather today, with chances of severe wind gusts and isolated tornadoes later this afternoon and evening.
County offices and facilities will remain open for their regular hours of operation today.
We advise everyone to be cautious and watch the weather on their commute back home. While chances are lower than they were earlier this week, the current forecast calls for sustained winds of 20-25 mph with gusts of 30-40 mph.
Stay safe and avoid any unnecessary travel!

Please take the following precautions to ensure the well-being of yourself and your loved ones:
1. Stay Informed: Remain updated on weather alerts through trusted local news sources, radio broadcasts, or weather apps to stay informed about changing conditions.
2. Secure Outdoor Items: Secure loose outdoor items such as patio furniture, umbrellas, and trash cans. These can become hazardous projectiles in high winds.
3. Seek Shelter: If you hear thunder or see lightning, move indoors to a sturdy building or car immediately. Stay away from windows and doors.
4. Avoid Trees and Power Lines: During high winds, trees and power lines may fall. Avoid walking or sheltering under trees and keep a safe distance from downed power lines.
5. Emergency Kit: Prepare an emergency kit with essentials like water, non-perishable food, flashlights, batteries, and a first aid kit.
6. Stay Indoors: Refrain from unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions. If you must drive, exercise caution and be mindful of road hazards.

Please be sure to stay safe and indoors tomorrow!
