Powderhorn Park! Check out options to share your thoughts

Stop by open house events on July 28 or August 5, or take the online survey

This summer, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is gathering feedback from community members on improvements coming at Powderhorn Park. We need to hear from you!


Drop by during “open house” events on July 28 and August 5 to:

  • Learn about the improvements project
  • Help plan and prioritize improvements
  • Share your thoughts, ideas and preferences 

Note: Information at these open houses will be the same as those held in June and July.

Thursday, July 28
9:30 to 11:30 am at Powderhorn Recreation Center

 

Friday, August 5

5 to 7pm at the northwest corner of Powderhorn Park: East 32nd Street & 10th Avenue South

Next steps & upcoming opportunities

MPRB staff will review community feedback on priority projects for the park, and plan more opportunities in September for community members to get involved in planning improvements. Watch for announcements once details are confirmed.

35th Street Pedestrian Safety Improvements - City of Minneapolis Public Works

Street improvements adjacent to Powderhorn Park are designed to help end crashes and promote safer driving. Construction anticipated in fall 2022. For more information, visit the City's Vision Zero Safety Improvements webpage:

Green Central Safe Routes to School (SRTS) - City of Minneapolis

This project includes pedestrian- and bicycle- related improvements for people of all ages and abilities along East 34th Street and 10th/11th Avenues South. These include a bikeway for safe and comfortable connections to Green Central Elementary School, Powderhorn Park, and other key area destinations. Construction anticipated in 2024.
